2015 Year-end Giving
Camp Makes a Difference
When you think about it, there are not many places around like Inspiration Point where: an 8th-grader says, “This camp is awesome because it gives me a better understanding of God in a great atmosphere.”… a 7th-grader realizes, “I figured out there are no more ‘what-ifs.’ God is real and he loves me.”… a 10th-grader testifies, “Inspiration Point is one of the greatest places I’ve ever been. I’ve never met so many friends, learned so much, or had as much fun as I did this week.”…an 11th-grader declares, “This week was absolutely amazing and totally changed my life. Thank you for the best week of my summer.”… and the list goes on. It’s true. There are not many places like Inspiration Point.
In order to ensure that this vital ministry continues to provide top-quality camp and retreat experiences, it is critical that we invest in people and tools that make this possible. As one who has been touched by Inspiration Point in one way or another, will you please consider giving a gift this year? Our goal of raising a total of $47,900 focuses on the two areas described in this below: underwriting summer staff salaries, and providing improved winter recreation equipment for our guests to enjoy.
The Backbone of Summer Camp
I wish you could see them in action. I wish you could see IPoint counselors loving and leading kids through weeks of camp full of new experiences, healthy laughter, and unforgettable memories. I wish you could eavesdrop as they sit with kids, listening to their stories, then encouraging them and pointing them to Jesus. I wish you could watch the rest of the summer staff dedicate twelve weeks to removing distractions so that counselors can serve well – mowing, repairing, cooking, cleaning, planning, leading, sharing, and giving of themselves over and over again.
Indeed, summer staff members learn that love isn’t some fleeting warm feeling that comes and goes based upon what one gets out of a relationship. No, they understand that “Love looks like something.” Love is a verb – an action word – something you do based on commitment. These young adults understand that they are the recipients of the greatest, committed love ever displayed, and then turn around and serve others because of it. So that this opportunity may continue, will you help make it possible for Inspiration Point to hire and train young people who will not only impact thousands next summer, but will also influence their world in the years ahead? Summer Staff Salary Subsidy Goal: $41,000
Not only are more people coming to camp in the summer, but thousands spend time at camp in the winter as well. We know that an important aspect of any camp experience is having fun together. We continue to improve our recreational offerings for the winter season, adding new ice skates last year. This year we hope to be able to begin replacing our 25-year-old cross country ski equipment, and purchase tubes to be used on our tubing hill. Goal: $6,900
Get Away. Get Life. Get to The Point.
Thank You Volunteers!
We want to say thank you to all of our volunteers for their hard work this year! Volunteers are critical to the mission of Inspiration Point. In 2015, Inspiration Point logged 1,489 volunteer hours.
Beyond The Point
“Camp has done amazing things in my life, and I'm blessed to continue to hear of stories of God's work there. Even just this last week I was reminded "the best life lived is the one given away" and "love looks like something" when faced with tough patient situations at work. I know the Lord used the training time at camp to prepare me for this season of serving.”
