Information Regarding Inspiration Point Retreat Season

This time that we are in is difficult for everyone. We are thankful that we have the opportunity to offer retreats this winter, but, in order to do so, we must comply with mandates from our government. Thank you for understanding.

Questions Regarding Retreats 

Will Inspiration Point be holding retreats this year?

Yes! We are moving forward with our retreat season and will be holding them at our new Twin Oaks facility due to the flooding that has occurred at our Spitzer Lake site. The address for Inspiration Point at Twin Oaks is 16157 Co Hwy 65 Vining, MN 56588

**We will make a decision considering the safety of our guests on each individual weekend 10 days prior to the event, unless we gain information after the 10 days that makes it clear that we should make a change. We will notify our guests via email or phone call if we decide that we cannot safely hold a retreat.

Will I need to wear a mask while attending my retreat?

The State of Minnesota has mandated that masks are required to be worn in all indoor public spaces. Because of this, all guests (ages 6+) will need to bring masks to be worn in these spaces during retreats until the State of Minnesota lifts its mandate. Unfortunately, we are unable to make exceptions. Thank you for your understanding.

What new protocols are in place due to COVID-19?

-We ask that only one parent/driver accommodate their camper during the check-in process to decrease the amount of foot traffic at our site. We also ask that if possible, campers/friends coming from the same area carpool together. Check-in will be from 6-7pm on Friday, and check-out will be between 10:45 and 11am on Sunday.

-During the check-in process, all campers will need to fill out a survey and have their temperatures checked. If any of the questions they answer are yes, or if they have a temp of 100.4 or higher, we regret that they will need to return home. They will have the opportunity to either receive a refund or transfer their registration to an upcoming retreat. If a camper is sick prior to a retreat, we ask that you please inform us by calling 218-338-5379 and remain at home.

-We will be serving at half of our regular capacity so that campers can maintain appropriate distance in their sleeping rooms, which is an area where masks are not required.

-Cabin groups, as much as possible, will be composed of campers from the same church/city/region.

-We will maintain a strict cleaning and sanitizing routine that we developed this summer, and everyone will be asked to sanitize their hands before entering our main facility and when using recreation equipment.

-As often as possible, we will stick to our cabin cohorts for activities, and these groups will eat at the same dining room table for each meal.

Arrival Process (Friday night 6-7pm)

All parents/drivers should enter through the green gate and head to the south parking lot. Bring all luggage with you to the Octagon, where you will turn in or fill out the health form (see attachment) and get a temperature check. Note: If a camper has a temp of 100.4 or higher, we regret that they will need to return home. Be ready to turn in electronics as well as medications in the Octagon. Campers will receive a room assignment and location to gather with their counselor & cabin mates. Please move campers into their cabins quickly and head to the gathering spot.

Departure Process (Sunday morning 10:45-11am)

Please enter through the green gate again. We will have a drive-through pick up system in order to keep campers safe. Campers will have their luggage in the Octagon and will be waiting on the east side of the camp road. Please line up along this road and sign out the campers that you will be taking home with the check-out attendant. Campers will grab their luggage and load up the vehicles.

What will meal times look like?

Cabins will have assigned tables for the weekend they are here. We will ask that they come in to the dining hall before the meal and we will dismiss one table at a time to go through the serving line. Before going through the serving line, everyone will be asked to wash/sanitize their hands and meals will be served by IPoint staff. Our dining room and kitchen are regularly cleaned in compliance with Minneosta Department of Health standards.

How will recreation options work?

We will be having cabins experience recreation options together so that we can limit contact with those in other cabin groups. We will ask that everyone use hand sanitizer before taking part in rec options (game room, climbing tower, basketball, etc.), and we will be sanitizing the equipment between uses. 

Staff and Guest Hygiene

Handwashing: Basic infection-preventing measures are expected to be maintained at all times while on site. Staff and guests are expected to wash their hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds frequently throughout the day, but especially before mealtimes and after using the restroom.

Clean and disinfection protections and protocols

Regular housekeeping practices are being implemented, including routine sanitizing of the workplace and frequent sanitizing of high-touch areas. Appropriate and effective cleaning and disinfectant supplies have been purchased and are to be used in accordance with product labels, safety data sheets and manufacturer specifications, and are being used with required personal protective equipment for the product.

Staff members are trained on cleaning procedures and will use laundered rags and premixed sanitizing spray throughout the camp. All common use areas, including but not limited to doorknobs, light switches, railings, handles, etc. will be sprayed down and cleaned daily.
