Special Announcement: Summer 2020 Restructure
Updated May 6th, 2020
INSPIRATION POINT ADJUSTS SUMMER 2020 CAMP SEASON DUE TO COVID-19
VINING, Minn. (05/06/2020). The Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has had an unprecedented impact on our world, and the ministry of Inspiration Point has not escaped. The last event that took place at camp ended on March 8th. Many have anticipated that the summer season at camp could be impacted as well. Unfortunately, that is the case.
Camp leadership and the board of directors believe that there is still a possibility that camp can be held this summer. Therefore, as long as government restrictions allow and Inspiration Point is able to serve in a manner that will meet expected standards of care, we intend that summer youth camps will open on July 26th under an adjusted schedule. Options for families will include three family camps in late August through Labor Day, as well as a three-week period in June and July when families can come for their own programmed summer family getaway operated in accordance with Minnesota Governor Walz's announcement on April 22nd when he "approved the reopening of summer resorts as long as they are operated with sanitary and social distancing practices in place."
"We have two commitments that we are trying to balance," stated Greg Anderson, President of Inspiration Point, "Inspiration Point is widely respected as a camp that places a high priority on camper and guest safety. At the same time, our mission drives us to serve and share the good news of Jesus Christ with as many people as possible. This decision to, hopefully, open later in the summer takes both into account."
Inspiration Point will continue to monitor updates, follow guidelines of local and state health officials, and employ best practices and protocols for the identification, mitigation, and appropriate treatment of any illness that may occur at camp.
Campers and guests who are currently registered for this summer will receive an email notification outlining the specific changes and their options. Inspiration Point will begin accepting new registrations by May 26th.
About Inspiration Point: Located in rural Vining, MN, Inspiration Point was dedicated in 1963 and is a Christian camp and retreat center dedicated to providing time and space for people to encounter Christ.

Re-registration process FAQs
What precautions are you taking for social distancing and protecting our kids during this crazy time? Will there be fewer kids at camp?
As we look ahead to hosting summer camps, the safety of our guests is our top priority, and it is the main reason that we adjusted the start date of our summer program. Know that we will continue to monitor updates, follow guidelines of local and state health officials, and employ best practices and protocols for the identification, mitigation, and appropriate treatment of any illness that may occur at camp.
Why are the camp weeks getting shortened by a day?
Due to our condensed summer season, we have decided to shorten the majority of our camp weeks by one day. By doing this, we will be able to have nine summer camps instead of four. We understand that some people are disappointed by the shortened weeks, but we want to do our best to let as many campers as possible experience camp this summer! We have also decreased the cost of those shortened camps by $80.
Do I have to re-register or just take the e-mail survey?
You will only need to fill out the survey. Since you have already registered your camper for this summer, we will take care of switching your camper's registration over to the dates that you have selected.
Are there any youth camps that are already full?
Camps that are currently full:
Senior high 1 (July 26-29)
Junior high 1 (August 2-5)
Explorer 1 Girls (July 30-Aug 2)
Pioneer 2/Explorer 2 (August 9-12)
Explorer 3 (August 16-19)
Will there still be GDO and Pathfinder camps this summer?
We are trying our best to schedule both of these events into our summer program while making sure that we are taking the proper safety precautions with all of our guests. We will provide more information regarding if/when we can have these retreats in the weeks to come.
Are there still scholarships available for youth campers?
Yes, we are still providing scholarships for youth camps! If you need financial assistance, visit https://ipoint.org/about-us/scholarships or call our office at 218-338-5379.
I'm not registered yet, but I want to be! What do I do?
We will be re-opening registrations on May 26th to campers who are not yet enrolled. Thank you for your patience as we re-work our schedule!
How will refunds be credited?
If you made a payment with a credit/debit card, it will be refunded back to your card. If there is an issue where the refund for a card is returned to us (i.e., you no longer have that card/account), we will send a check in the mail to the address that we have on file.
If you made a payment with cash/check, we will provide your refund with a check. The time frame for getting refunded with this method could be upwards of 6-8 weeks. Thank you for your patience as we work through this.
