The Power of Camp
When Suzie came to camp as a Sr. High student two years ago, her world was turned upside down when she was introduced to the greatest “Game Changer” of all time – Jesus Christ! Suzie was born in Kenya and moved to the United States when she was a little girl. Before camp, Suzie knew nothing about what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus. Through her experience at camp, the power of the Gospel completely transformed Suzie’s life.

Why does camp make a difference? With so many pressures on young people today, camp affords the time and space for students to consider who they are during a time in their lives where they are desperately searching for identity and a place to belong. Camp allows time away from the distractions of everyday life to slow down and consider the big questions of life …Who am I? What is my purpose? What do I believe? With well planned activities, highly-trained counselors & staff who are committed followers of Christ, and clean/modern facilities, camp is a safe place for young people to be creative, have fun and make memories. One Sr. Higher put it this way:
“I feel safe at camp, I am able to be who I am and people care for me even though I might not deserve it.”
Dr. Walt Mueller, youth culture expert and the President/Founder of The Center for Parent & Youth Understanding, said this about the power of a camp experience:
"20 years ago my colleagues and I viewed Christian camping as increasingly irrelevant. Now, I believe nothing could be further from the truth. In my opinion, there is no place, outside the home, that affords kids a better opportunity to consider their identity in Christ and purpose in life than at a Christian camp."

We are excited to welcome Rebecca Meidinger from Far Above Rubies as our speaker for this year's Women's Retreat. Far Above Rubies is a unique retreat event for women that will bring a powerful message of love, identity, and redemption. Discover anew the love of Jesus as we look at the lives of beautiful and courageous women in the Gospels whose lives were transformed when they encountered Jesus. Far Above Rubies was designed to meet the hearts of women of all ages. Because this message is vital for high school and college-age women, we encourage mothers and daughters to join together to hear the Truth that "a woman of noble character is worth far above rubies" and be equipped to impact the world with the love and grace of Jesus.
