Homeschool Co-op

Homeschool Co-op is a branch of Outdoor Adventure Education (OAE) at Inspiration Point. This class is designed to provide outdoor learning expeditions to school age students, recognizing the benefits that accompany being outdoors and learning in God's creation. We will aim to provide opportunities that exercise creative thinking, build resiliency and adaptability, and increase student's sense of wonder- presenting your kids with the chance to fall in love with learning outdoors! We will also spend time looking at what God's word says about the world He created and what the Bible says about us, in addition to some focus on soft skills, such as team building, problem solving, and collaboration.

The staff and leaders:
Inspiration Point has a staff of highly trained individuals with significant experience in leading kids; equipped with the knowledge and skills to teach, guide and care for individuals. Our staff has a passion for the outdoors and helping kids discover, explore, and learn in this environment.

Malleri is one of the Homeschool Co-op teachers. With a degree in elementary education from Valley City State University, she has a passion for teaching and spending time with kids. With previous teaching experience, Malleri works hard to teach, guide, and care for individual students. She is excited to meet and get to know each student!

Tommy is one of the Homeschool Co-op teachers. He is a certified challenge course facillitator, trainer, and manager. He has experience and enthusiasm for outdoor adventure and years of camp experience. Tommy is excited to go on adventures and dive into God's Word with each student!


Schedule:

A typical day will include as much time outside as possible, so students would need to dress appropriately. Below is an example of a possible schedule:

8:15 Arrival + First Word (morning scripture lesson/devotional)
8:45 Weather
9:00 Tools for Learning
9:40 Discovery Hike
10:10 Observation Place
10:25 Gathering Time + Snack
11:00 Learning Expedition – experimentation activity
12:00 Lunch
12:30 Free Play + Group Read
1:00 Outdoor Adventure – options may include orienteering, snow shoeing, canoeing, snow forts, etc.
2:00 Research + Report
3:00 Last Word (closing scripture lesson)
3:30 Departure
