WELCOME EXPLORER 1 CAMPERS!

Yesterday afternoon, we welcomed a WONDERFUL group of 3rd-5th graders to IPoint! These students showed up with big smiles and lots of excitement for the week ahead. Though we had a bit of rain on Sunday evening, the spirits were high and the joy was abounding! A highlight of our opening night was when we got to introduce the theme to the campers through a skit & song. The whole group was standing up with our staff, dancing to the music, and rejoicing with one voice! Campers were eager to meet their cabin leader, and once they did, they were off and running for a time that we call "Whirlwind." During Whirlwind, each group becomes familiar with the way things work around camp. Expectations are set, boundaries are explained, and cabins spend time getting to know one another. As that all happened, cabins got to enjoy a PIZZA PARTY together, which was another highlight for many kids AND staff members! Our evening closed out with our weekly cabin song contest and a campfire. A great first night has us looking forward to what the rest of the week will hold!
