Explorer 1: What Campers Are Learning

Though the rain has changed our plans a few times this week, nothing can stop the work that God has been doing in these young hearts. Yesterday, campers got to enjoy a beautiful day, soaking in the sunshine and taking advantage of the pool, splash pad, zipline and climbing wall. Around 6PM, we experienced a QUICK downpour of rain, meaning we had to reschedule our Christ Hike for Wednesday night. Because of that, campers got to see Gaslamp Theater one night earlier than usual, and we got to add a bonus campfire once the weather cleared up.
At campfire, students took a few minutes to stand up and share what God has been teaching them. Countless campers told of how they now know that Jesus has done EVERYTHING necessary for them to be saved - it's not up to them to be good enough. The pure and true Gospel was shared by SO many of them, and we are REJOICING over that today!
Yesterday, campers spent time talking about how we can rejoice even in the trials of life, because God promises that our sadness will one day turn to joy. Today, campers are diving into the promise of heaven, which is another incredible reason to REJOICE! The resurrection of Jesus changed everything for us, so our future is brighter and better than we could imagine!
Enjoy some photos from Tuesday and Wednesday below. We are loving the chance to serve these kids and point them to Christ!
