KICKOFF TO EXPLORER 4 + TB2

Sunday was A BIG DAY at IPoint as we welcomed two different age groups - our Trailblazer 2 campers (1st-2nd grade) who will be with us until Tuesday morning, and our Explorer 4 campers (3rd-5th grade) who will stick around at camp until Thursday morning. These two age groups, while they will see each other in the Dining Room and in passing, will be enjoying completely separate programs for their specific age.
As these campers arrived yesterday, our staff's goal was to meet each camper where they were at. Some campers step foot on the grounds of Twin Oaks FULL of excitement and readiness for whatever the week may bring. Others enter with some nerves and uncertainty. Still others feel a mix of both! Our team of staff desire to care for each camper individually, paying attention to how they may need to be cared for in their first hours here.
Around 5pm, the entire camp joined together for our OPENING where a skit was performed and the staff joined in a flash mob dance! This is one way that we introduce our theme of REJOICE, so that campers get a glimpse into what they'll be learning throughout the week. Campers were then dismissed by cabin group to meet one another and get acquainted with the way we do things at IPoint. Camraderie amongst the cabin groups was built quickly as they spent time eating pizza around the tables & creating a cabin song together. Each group of campers got to close out the night at campfire, which always leaves them looking forward to more! We can't wait to see how God meets each camper and speaks to their heart. Stay tuned for more stories!
