Throughout the year, we offer camps and retreats for youth, adults, and families where you’ll not only have a lot of fun, but also have an opportunity to connect with God. Hope to see you soon!
Those who have witnessed camp in action - those whose lives have been changed forever as a result of a camp experience - know firsthand that lives are changed at Camp!
Inspiration Point offers use of our meeting rooms, lodging, and activities for rent. Our attention to detail, and concern for the small things makes Inspiration Point the ideal place to hold your next event.
Actually, it isn’t about us. It is about the God we serve. But, in case you’re wondering about some basics...
The far-reaching ministry of Inspiration Point would not be possible without generous partnership with donors. Each year hundreds stand in the gap providing resources that make camp possible.
As the end of this year approaches, Inspiration Point is seeking to raise $130,000 to address recreation needs and offset the cost of training and employing its summer staff, launching this effort on Give to the Max Day, November 18th, 2021. Would you consider giving a generous gift on Give to the Max Day? Your year-end gift will help Inspiration Point hire and train 63 more staff next summer, build a playground, and improve winter recreation offerings. Thank you so much!Give Now ›
Inspiration Point is a healthy, growing Christian camp and retreat center that was dedicated in 1963. Attendance has grown steadily in the past decade at this biblically-based ministry, requiring an expansion to two separate sites – Spitzer Lake and Twin Oaks (opening in 2020). The mission of Inspiration Point is to, by God's grace, provide time and space for people to encounter Christ.
Inspiration Point is a non-profit organization owned by the Central and Western Regions of the Church of the Lutheran Brethren. A nine-member board of directors oversees the ministry of the camp. Campers and guests arrive from communities scattered primarily throughout a five-state region.
The year-round staff currently includes the following full-time positions:
Part-time positions include: Housekeeper, bookkeeper, assistant cooks, and other hourly workers. In the summer, we hire approximately seventy-five additional staff members.
Inspiration Point at Spitzer Lake is located on a 41-acre wooded peninsula surrounded by the waters of 800-acre, Spitzer Lake. We operate or host more than 100 events on-site each year, consisting of programmed retreats and rental group events, as well as youth and family camps in the summer months. Additionally, we provide Day Camp in more than 30 communities across seven states. More than 9,000 campers and guests are served on approximately 215 different days each year.
The Spitzer Lake site consists of three residences, a chapel, two amphitheaters, 6-unit motel, a maintenance building, an activity center, a gymnasium, an administration building, six cabins, three buildings with private rooms that accommodate a total of 176, a main lodge (dining room, worship center, giftshop, and 36-bed retreat center), a showerhouse, waterfront, meeting rooms, a large game area, and woods. Ten of these facilities have been added since 1989 and the others have all been completely renovated. Facilities are heated and air-conditioned and all but one are available for year-round use. We can serve groups of up to 250 throughout the year.
The Twin Oaks site lies 12 miles northeast of Spitzer Lake. It will open in June 2020 with a capacity of 100 campers per week. The site will consist of an office building with a meeting room; the Twin Oaks Center that will house dining, large meeting space, a gameroom, gift and snack shop; a large shelter for outdoor gatherings; a shower house; swimming pool; Hilltop House; two residences; ten cabins; sports pavilion; staff housing; and Twin Oaks Lodge.
