Cabin Leaders & Campers - Explorer 4
Over the course of just a few days, campers often build a VALUABLE friendship with their cabin leader. This begins RIGHT AWAY - the moment the cabin leader and camper meet one another on Sunday afternoon!
Our staff have been trained to recognize that every moment is an opportunity to gain trust. Beginning on Sunday, they greet EVERY camper called down to join their cabin with a smile and high five. Throughout the rest of the week, cabin leaders play hard with kids, in order that they may earn the right to be heard during the important teaching times. They joyfully spend time doing all sorts of activities with campers - crafts, playing board games across the table, laughing, going on boat rides, making all kinds of memories together. Each of those moments play an important role in campers learning to trust their cabin leader.
When it comes time for something like Bible Study, our cabin leaders passionately share the Gospel with students. This is why they are serving at camp! The desire of their hearts is that each camper would know the love of Christ and be changed by the Good News of the Gospel! They take time to teach students how to read their Bible. They look for chances to encourage students in who God made them to be. They preach the Gospel again and again - any chance they get! In all of this, their MAIN ROLE is to duck, get out of the way, and allow their campers to see JESUS!
As your child spends time away at camp, you can know that they are being cared for by young adults who have found the greatest treasure in Jesus Christ & seek to share His love with every camper that they interact with!
