NAVIGATOR 1/L41 CAMPERS HAVE ARRIVED!

Yesterday, we had the privilege of welcoming our first summer youth camp (Navigator 1 & L41) and it was certainly marked by JOY! After two weeks of training, our staff have been eager to put into practice all they have learned. They've been yearning for campers to arrive so that the chance to proclaim the Gospel to over 2,000 kids (over the course of the summer) could begin.
As Navigator & L4 students arrived on site, they were welcomed with bright-colored decorations and LOTS of warm greetings. After checking in at IPoint, each camper is met right away with a staff member who gives them a mini-tour and helps them find their cabin. Our desire is that every guest would sense the joy of the Lord immediately when stepping foot on the property! After registration, we officially kicked off our week at Hillside - if you're coming later this summer, you can anticipate quite the opening that our staff have put together! Campers were introduced to their cabin leaders and cabinmates and they set off for a time called "Whirlwind." Every cabin enjoyed a PIZZA PARTY served by our support staff, where they got to choose their own toppings. Cabins spent time setting up the week and talking about how to live together in community in a way that honors Christ. They also spent time creating a cabin song, which was later performed at HOOTENANNY! This activity seems to always bring laughter and unity to these new groups of friends. At Hootenanny, we also had the chance to meet our speaker, Clay Mitchell. Clay invited students to be attentive to what God wants to teach them this week, encouraging them to be real with their cabin leaders and ask the questions that are on their heart.
We closed out the evening at campfire, which is always a favorite! Pray for these students today as they dive into God's Word, learning that He is the ultimate Promise Keeper. Stay tuned for more updates throughout the week!
