Junior High & Trailblazer 1 are Underway!
On Sunday Inspiration Point welcomed three groups of campers; Junior High, Trailblazers, and CITs! Junior Highers are in grades 7th and 8th, and stay from Sunday till Friday. Trailblazers are going into 1st and 2nd grade, making them our youngest age group of overnight campers! CIT's are Counselors In Training and will spend the week learning the responsibilities of an IPoint counselor! All of the camper groups gathered at the Hillside to kick off this week of camp! There, they watched a skit, got introduced to the theme of "Finish Strong" and met their counselors and cabins!
Then it's on to WHIRLWIND and PIZZA NIGHT! Whirlwind is a time for the cabins to get introduced to each other and learn the basics for what will make their time at camp fun and safe! Pizza Night is so much fun for campers as they get to eat IPoint pizza with the toppings that they choose, along with a brownie that campers consistenty give a 10/10 rating!
After Pizza and Whirlwind, the different age groups (Trailblazers and Junior High) split up and stay seperate for the remainder of the camp! Each age will have summer camp programming specifically designed for them with very minimal overlap. The trailblazers took their camp photo, performed their cabin songs, learned the first theme verse of the week, had an early campfire, and then went back to their cabins! The trailblazers love to sing loud and they proved it when everyone sang "I Just Want to be A Sheep!"
Isaiah 40:31 "Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
The junior high campers also took a camp photo and showed off their cabin songs at HOOTENANNY! The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners of Hootenanny get to go to breakfast first the following morning, so campers got very excited at the allure of victory! Emily and Sydney's cabin won the trailblazer Hootenanny and Kate P's cabin took the victory for JH. Junior High campfire closed out the evening as we sang camp song favorites like "Trumpet Sound" and ended with "Jesus is the Answer."
Please pray that each of the campers groups that are here at Inspiration Point would have lots of fun, build meaningful relationships, and would grow in their relationship with the Lord during their time here!
